" Adventures In Bumble Bee Research & Conservation "
The Woodard lab at UC Riverside combines experimental work
with bumble bees with broader efforts to conserve wild bees
across the US and beyond. This presentation will highlight some
of this work, including organismal research on the factors
mediating ovarian development in bumble bee queens.
Additional, broader topics covered will include the status of wild
bee conservation in the US and recent efforts to mobilize the wild
bee research and conservation communities to more effectively
study, monitor, and protect wild bees, despite these chaotic and
troubling times for biodiversity conservation.
