" How Context Shapes Complex Biological Systems: Tales of Proteins, Pandemics, and Prisons "

In this seminar, I will introduce our approach to examining how context and environment shapes complex biological systems at three scales: (a) molecular evolution, (b) epidemiology, and (c) the interface between culture and data. Specifically, I focus on problems that include antimalarial resistance, the evolution of virulence, and how COVID-19 influenced social institutions.
