Volunteer, Community Service and Leadership Opportunities

UCLA students are encouraged to participate in volunteer and community service activities as part of their educational, emotional and personal formation. Engaging in these activities also helps to foster and develop students' leadership abilities.

Chancellor Gene Block established the UCLA Volunteer Center in 2009 (http://volunteer.ucla.edu/) to assist students in finding these opportunities.

In 2009, UCLA held the inaugural UCLA Volunteer Day which occurred during Welcome Week in Fall Quarter. On this day, new students were able to participate in their first volunteer activities as UCLA students.

There are numerous volunteer, community service and leadership opportunities available to students, both on-campus and off-campus.
