Plant mediation of tritrophic interactions: A synthesis of community and evolutionary ecology

My research approaches the topic of tri-trophic interactions among plants, herbivores and their natural enemies (predators, parasitoids) from a plant-based perspective. I will present the results of empirical studies investigating the consequences of intra- and inter-specific variation among plants in their associated enemy abundance and the effects of enemies on herbivores. This topic has relevance to a broad range of ecological and evolutionary processes, including the community consequences of plant genetic diversity, the evolution of plant defense, and plant species coexistence and diversity.
