Professor Stephen Hubbell Named Honorary Member of the British Ecological Society

This year is the centenary of the British Ecological Society, and we have a wide programme of events and activities to celebrate 100 years of ecological science. BES Council decided that as a part of our centenary celebrations we should appoint a small number of Honorary members of the Society from outside the UK. Honorary membership of the BES is the highest honour that the Society gives. The primary criterion is a lifetime's achievement in the science of ecology or its application, and certain eminent ecologists in the UK already hold this title. The Council of the British Ecological Society has selected Professor Stephen Hubell as one of their centenary Honorary Members. He will be honored at an awards ceremony on August 21, 2013.
