My research work deals with mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias in humans and I have published several papers in this area. My group is actively involved in mechanistic studies, complex catheter ablation and the development of new medical technology for cardiovascular therapeutics. I serve on the editorial board of the journals Heart Rhythm, PACE and serve as a peer reviewer for several basic and clinical journals in cardiology. I also serve as a peer reviewer for the NIH in evaluating cardiac arrhythmia research. My lab group is interested in the autonomic regulation of the heart and more specifically its role in normal and abnormal rhythms of the heart. I am excited about how fundamental knowledge of the evolution of autonomic regulation of the heart in animals might generate new biomedical discoveries that can improve human health.
