Reasons for wanting to work in our group

Are you hoping to get course credit? What course? (Please note that I cannot accept students directly into EEB 198 unless they have relevant experience or a perfectly suited background. In most cases it is necessary to do a semester of EEB 99 first, to see whether the lab is a good fit.)

Which projects in our lab interest you the most? Have you read any of our papers, and are there particular papers you found exciting?

Our research involves a lot of mathematical and computational tools (we do not do wet-lab work). What quantitative courses have you taken (math, statistics, physics, engineering, computer science, etc), and what grades did you get? Do you like these quantitative subjects?

Do you know any programming languages? If so, which ones, and how well can do you know them?
