UP TO DATE!
Additional Information:
- All Life Science Core Curriculum courses must be passed with a letter grade of C- or better and must be completed with an overall grade point average of 2.0 or better. Biology majors must earn a 2.0 (C) overall average in all courses applied toward the major.
- A maximum of four units of graduate work may be applied on the major (if approved).
- A maximum of 4 units of EEB/Bio 199 OR 8 units of EEB/Bio 190A&B may be applied to the major.
- Two two-unit courses count as one upper division requirement on the major. A six-unit course counts as one course on the requirements for the major.
- Biology majors are required to take one Life Science GE course outside of the Department of Ecology Evolutionary Biology. (This can be a course from the Life Sciences 1-4 series.)
- All courses must be taken for a letter grade.
- The College of Letters and Science requires a total of 72 upper division units for graduation.
- EEB (Biology) 192 and MCDB 193 do NOT apply on the Biology major.
Departmental Honors
An overall GPA of 3.4 and a 3.4 in the Biology major are required for graduation with honors in Biology. Highest honors in Biology are awarded to majors who have a GPA of 3.6 overall and a 3.6 in the major at graduation and who have satisfactorily completed EEB (Bio) 190A&B. Students need not apply for departmental honors; all students are reviewed for this following the receipt of final transcripts.
